Oticon adult ear hook with 9 dB acoustic damper

Oticon Hook, Adult TR 9 dB is an original replacement ear hook for compatible Oticon Xceed and Xceed Play behind-the-ear hearing aids.

The ear hook connects the hearing aid to the tubing leading to the earmould. This version includes an integrated 9 dB acoustic damper, which helps shape the sound response as part of the hearing aid fitting. Because the damper affects the acoustic characteristics of the hearing aid, this version should only replace an existing 9 dB damped hook or be used when recommended as part of the hearing aid fitting.

If your current ear hook does not use a damper, choose the standard Adult TR version instead.

Technical data

Product type: Ear hook with acoustic damper
Size: Adult
Damper: 9 dB

What does the 9 dB damper do?

The acoustic damper helps control the sound response through the ear hook and tubing. Hearing care professionals use different hook and damper configurations to fine-tune the acoustic performance of BTE hearing aids.

For this reason, a damped and undamped hook should not automatically be treated as interchangeable, even if they look very similar.

When should the ear hook be replaced?

Replace the ear hook if it becomes damaged, loose, cracked or worn. If you are replacing an existing hook, check whether your current version contains a damper before ordering.

If you experience reduced sound, also inspect the tubing and earmold for moisture, wax or blockage, as these can cause similar symptoms.
